Bupa Great Runs.

Our challenge
Throughout 2012 we are taking part in a number of challenges to support the great work that Tommy's Baby Charity undertake.
Our first challenge to kick start the year, will be held on May 30, running the Bupa London 1000.

The Bupa London 10,000 starts and finishes in St. James’s Park and uses Green Park as its assembly area.

The race starts on Birdcage Walk and follows an anti-clockwise route around the City of Westminster and the City of London via Parliament Square, Embankment, Blackfriars Bridge, Queen Victoria Street, Cannon Street, Great Tower Street, Crutched Friars, Fenchurch Street, Leadenhall Market, Cornhill, Queen Victoria Street, Puddle Dock, Embankment, Horseguards Avenue, Whitehall and via Trafalgar Square to the Finish in The Mall.

Runners pass many of London’s famous sights, including Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, The London Eye, Cleopatra’s Needle, Tate Gallery, Millennium Bridge, The Monument, Lloyds of London, Leadenhall Market, Bank of England, Mansion House, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Horseguards, Nelson's Column and Admiralty Arch. Buckingham Palace acts as the backdrop to the start and finish.

Why Tommy's Baby Charity?
The choice to run for Tommy's was driven by the fact that a close member of our team lost their second child to cot-death and the feeling of helplessness inspired us to support the great work that Tommy's undertake.

You can track our progress on our Just Giving page and view pictures of the day that either we took or were taken for us !! Our fund raising meter is shown to the right-hand side and we would love to break our target this year.

Staying Motivated
To keep us motivated and track our progress, we use a fabulous application for our iPhone that tracks our miles, calories and speed and posts our updates online to our Twitter and Facebook pages. No hiding now from not doing a decent run !!!

Our training progress can be viewed and even mapped Live at Runkeeper up until the day of the big event and then watch us Live as we run on the actual day of the event.
